Conference “Qualidade no Jornalismo”
Sala de Atos do ICSOn June 22, 2022, the conference on “Qualidade no Jornalismo” took place in Sala de Atos, at ICS.

The event aimed to highlight, on the one hand, the importance that journalism studies have had in the work of CECS since its creation in 2001, and, on the other hand, to highlight the need to renew scientific thinking about journalistic production in the current global context of communication, proposing to approach it through a debate on its quality(ies).
The program began at 9:30 a.m. with the opening lecture by Spanish researcher Dolors Palau (University of Valencia), whose scientific career has addressed a number of important issues related to journalistic production, from the study of genres and the evolution of narrative forms in journalism to journalistic quality. This was followed by a round table discussion with several journalists representing different perspectives on the issue of quality.
The conference closed with the presentation and discussion of seven papers submitted by the scientific community in response to the call for papers.
The conference was organized by CECS’ Media and Journalism research group and the Barometer for Information Quality.
