Ana Filipa Gomes

Ana Filipa Gomes was born on 26 August 1985 in Barcelos and graduated in Communication Sciences from the University of Minho in 2007. One year later, she defended her Master’s dissertation at the same university, focusing on television journalism for deaf audiences. She worked at Porto Canal from 2008 to 2019 as a journalist, anchor and coordinator. She was also one of the founders of Rádio Estádio, and in 2021, she accepted an invitation to join Canal 11, owned by the Portuguese Football Federation. As an accredited journalist with the number 5586, she has a particular interest in reporting on crime stories with rigour and depth. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Minho, with research interests in journalism quality, journalist specialisation, and forensic journalism.
