Luís Loureiro is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and a researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) at the University of Minho. With a PhD in Communication Sciences earned in 2012, he has worked as a journalist and communicator for 35 years. Along the way, he helped found Rádio Terra Nova (Gafanha da Nazaré), where he learned the fundamentals of journalism. He later worked at Rádio Nova, Rádio Comercial, and RTP. At the public broadcaster, he has worked as an investigative journalist, feature reporter, and war correspondent, experiencing every shade of the rainbow. During his career, he received two individual awards and a collective journalism award presented to the Sexta às 9 programme team, to which he belonged for seven years. His research interests include key aspects of information quality, especially the fundamental relationship between factuality and truth.
